Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: HONESTY
Honesty is speaking the truth and acting in a way that doesn't aim to trick or deceive others. It includes owning up to our mistakes, taking responsibility for our words and actions, and telling the truth, even when it's easier to lie. Honesty is even written into one of the commandments.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Catholic Schools Week. Thank you to Year 4 teachers and students for presenting a wonderful ANZAC Prayer Service on Monday. We have a busy week with Coolah Cross Country and a Rugby League Gala Day tomorrow. PSSA commences this Friday.
Catholic Schools Week - Catholic Schools Week is being celebrated across the Diocese of Bathurst between 5-11 May. The theme for 2024 is Experience the Spirit of Community.
Across Australia, 805,000 students attend Catholic schools (this equates to 1 in 5 Australian students), where they are educated and looked after by over 109,000 dedicated teachers and support staff.
The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst provides a diverse range of educational opportunities to approximately 10,000 students in 33 schools, from primary schools in small rural communities to large secondary schools in regional towns.
Our Catholic schools are welcoming communities that support parents as the first educators of their children. Parents look to our schools as nurturing communities where they understand their children will be safe and cared for in an inclusive environment.
Our schools are communities of faith, part of the local parish community and working closely with that community to form the children in their care. This makes every school unique.
At the heart of Catholic education lies a commitment to nurturing the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Catholic schools in the Diocese of Bathurst nurture each child's potential in a holistic, student-centred learning environment.
Our schools are led by expert educators who are passionately committed to the learning and well-being of each student in their care. These teachers challenge our young people to live out Jesus's message and help them develop the knowledge and skills that will enable them to reach their full potential as compassionate and contributing members of society.
Our Catholic schools are affordable, inclusive, and quality learning communities.

Executive Director of Schools
Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst

This is a development carnival with an emphasis on participation and fun, and we hope all of our boys and girls have a great day.

PSSA Competition - The Dubbo District Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) Winter Sports Competition will take place in Term 2 and involve our students in Years 4-6. Attendance
Holidays should be booked during school breaks. Students should be at school every day during the school term, right from the first day until the last.
While it's generally advised for holidays to be booked during school breaks, it's also important for parents to communicate with the school regarding any planned absences and to adhere to the school's attendance policies.
In cases where absences are unavoidable, working with teachers to ensure that missed material is caught up can help minimise the impact on a student's education and school processes are followed for any missed assessment tasks.
PARTIAL ABSENCES:
Parents must attend the school office to use the Compass Kiosk to complete a PARENT DROP-OFF or PARENT PICK-UP if arriving late or leaving early.
FULL DAY ABSENCES:
A Note should be submitted via Compass for a FULL DAY absence from school.
Reminder: Parents to submit an attendance note within 7 days of absence. Thank you.
