Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: Humility
Humility means that we have a realistic view of ourselves by understanding both our strengths and weaknesses. While it's good to be aware of our talents and achievements, we should never boast about them because we recognise everything comes from God, like our health, our possessions and even our friends.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 5. Thanks to our Year 4 and Year 2 teachers for their time in organising and supervising class excursions over the last two weeks. Thanks to Mrs Sutcliffe for taking our two Rugby Union teams to Orange last Wednesday. We have Year 1’s Fairy Tale Day tomorrow, Netball Schools Cup on Wednesday and our super spellers will be at the Diocesan Spelling Bee in Wellington on Thursday.
National Sorry Day - Sunday, 26th May - The theme for 2024 is ‘Now more than ever’, encouraging all Australians, from individuals, families, and communities to organisations and the Government, to be tangible voices for reconciliation in their
everyday lives. We had a Sorry Day Prayer Service this afternoon.
Diocesan Spelling Bee - The Primary Diocesan Spelling Bee will be held in Wellington this Thursday.
Best of luck to:
Lucy McArthur, Anna Godwin, Emma Malouf and Anne Campbell.
Contracts Signed for Building Work - Contracts were signed for the commencement of our building project last Thursday. Our building program will be completed in three phases;
- Library
- Year 1 extensions and new Infants Lunch Area
- Year 2 extensions.
Construction will commence on Monday, 1st July. Once the library build is completed, it will serve as our replacement classroom for our Year 1 and then Year 2 classes while their classrooms are being worked on. We are very excited about our long-awaited building improvements, but there will be inevitable short-term changes to routines and disruptions while the work is being completed. We look forward to the commencement of the work, and we’ll keep you up to date as the work progresses.
Kindergarten Interviews 2025 - Enrolment interviews for new families for next year’s Kindergarten continue this week. Sibling Kindergarten interviews will be held the last week of this term.
Winter Uniform
Officially, the children are to wear their formal winter uniform after the June Long Weekend
on Tuesday, 11th June but if your child is feeling cold,
they can wear their winter uniform from the commencement of Term 2.

National Sorry Day - Today our school paused to reflect on the significance of National Sorry Day.
Some of our Year 6 students led us in a reflective prayer where we paused to remember.

It lays the groundwork for a successful and fulfilling educational journey.
