Vision Statement: St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: Confidence
Confidence means that we believe we have lots to offer others, even though we're not perfect. This helps us
trust our ability to do things well, even in hard situations, and not question ourselves when making decisions.
Confidence shouldn't be confused with being boastful or arrogant, which is off-putting because it makes other people feel bad or annoyed.
Confidence is:
* Being comfortable in your skin.
* Not letting what others think stop you from taking the opportunity to try new things.
* Believe in your ability to learn, grow and achieve.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 5. Our term is flying by.
We have moved our Grandparents Day date to Term 3 - Week 2, Friday, 2nd August. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Student Phones - Parents are reminded that any students who bring phones to school are asked to drop them off at the office in the morning. Class teachers will give them time to collect the phone before they go home at the end of the day.
Medical Forms - Medical forms were sent home at the beginning of the year. We are asking that those forms be returned to school this week. We will assume that any forms not returned mean that those children can be removed from our medical register.
Uniform reminders relating to hair and jewellery
* Jewellery is not permitted other than a signet ring, a watch, a crucifix on a fine chain and one
sleeper or plain stud earring in the lobe of each ear.
* Make-up or nail polish is not to be worn.
* Hair is one natural colour, clean, tidy, neatly cut, out of the eyes and tied back if long (this
applies to both boys and girls). Mullets or any variation are not permitted.
If worn, ribbons, hair bands, and clips must be maroon or, black or pink or made from the fabric
of the school uniform.
* On Mondays, students are expected to wear black school shoes. Black runners or casual shoes,
e.g., Asics or Vans, are not considered black school shoes and should not be worn on Mondays.

Grandparent’s Day moved to Term 3!!!
Project Compassion 2024 - In 2024 the Project Compassion focus will be ‘For All Future Generations’. As it was Project Compassion Sunday last Sunday- each class will commence their fundraising for 2024 this week. This year's theme reminds us that what we do today can have an impact For All Future Generations. This message invites us to step up for those who do not have the essential resources they need for their survival and those whose needs at this time are far beyond ours. By putting compassion into action, we can make a difference today, For All Future Generations.
Second Week of Lent
(Week beginning Monday 26 February)
Ronita is 22. She lives with her husband and two children in a barangay (local district) in Quezon City, which is situated in Metro Manila in the Philippines.
Ronita left school when she became pregnant as a teenager. This could have had a life-long impact on her ability to find work and provide for her family but, thankfully, she heard about the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program run by the Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), Caritas Australia’s local partner in the Philippines.
Through the FCJ, Ronita was able to re-enrol in her studies and continue learning in a safe and flexible environment – even with the arrival of her second child.
After completing her ALS classes, Ronita went on to earn her Grade 12 Senior High School Diploma. With her new diploma, Ronita has now secured a job at a call centre and is looking to a brighter future for her whole family.
“I have now graduated senior school and I am so proud of myself,” she said. “I feel hopeful for the future… Now it’s not impossible for me to achieve my dream… Thank you.”
