Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: P R A Y E R F U L N E S S
Prayerfulness is raising your heart and mind to God. It means setting aside time for Jesus, speaking to him and then listening in peaceful silence. We love to spend time with friends. How much more should we love to spend time with Our Lord who made us and has given us all that is good?
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 6.
Our Year 3 students will celebrate their First Holy Communion this weekend. Thanks to our Year 3 teachers, Mr Keady, Fr Greg Kennedy, Fr Nam and Mrs Rosalie Hosking, the St. Brigid’s Sacramental Coordinator, for organising this special sacrament for our Year 3 students and their families.
Father’s Day Breakfast - We are providing Father's Day Breakfast this Friday, 30th August. We are trying something different this year and offering ham and cheese croissants. A form looking for numbers to
help with catering was sent out via Compass today.
Breakfast commences at 7.30am and all dads are welcome.
School Dances - Our school dances are on 3rd and 4th September in our School Hall.
Infants - Tuesday, 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm
Primary - Wednesday, 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm
Students are to have their names marked off on the class list before entering the hall. At the end of the dance, students will not be permitted to leave the hall unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. If your child is to be picked up by another adult, parents are asked to write a note to the class teacher to advise him/her of the alternative arrangements. Parents are asked NOT to stay whilst the dance takes place. You might like to join in the last dance for the evening when you come to collect your child.
P & F Meeting - All parents are welcome to attend our next Parents & Friends Meeting in our school library next Tuesday, 3rd September, commencing at 6.00 pm.
Monday Uniform - As of next week, students are permitted to wear their winter or summer uniforms on Mondays, depending on the weather. If children choose to wear their winter uniform, they must wear their tie.
**All students will wear their summer uniform in Term 4.

Attendance
Is your child struggling to attend school?
If your child is avoiding school, it's crucial to proactively address the issue by contacting the Pastoral Care Leader. Subject teachers play a key role in observing and understanding students' behaviours and can collaborate with you to identify and address any challenges your child may be facing. Share your observations about your child's behaviour and express any concerns you may have. Be open and honest about the challenges your child is facing in attending school regularly. Collaboratively work with the school and your child to explore possible causes for your child's avoidance of school. This could include academic challenges or social issues. Work together to develop and monitor strategies to address the identified issues. You can seek advice free from NSW ParentLine 1300 1300 52. Book an appointment via phone or emailing your nearest headspace centre. Book a session with the free ReachOut Coaching Service for parents and carers.
Automated Attendance Notification:
CEDB has set up Automated Attendance Notifications for our school.
Attendance Tracking: Teachers will record attendance as usual.
Automated Alerts: If your child is marked absent without a known reason, an SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Immediate Action: You can take immediate action by contacting the school if the absence is
unexpected or unaccounted for.
Ensure Your Contact Information is Up-to-Date: Verify and update your mobile number with the school office.
Communicate Absences: Notify the school in advance if your child will be absent.
Stay Alert: Look out for SMS notifications from the school.
PARTIAL ABSENCES:
Parents must attend the school office to use the Compass Kiosk to complete a PARENT DROP-OFF or PARENT PICK-UP if arriving late or leaving early.
FULL DAY ABSENCES:
A Note should be submitted via Compass for a FULL DAY absence from school.
Reminder: Parents to submit an attendance note within 7 days of absence. Thank you.
