Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: S I N C E R I T Y
Sincerity means being genuine to others without fakeness and acting out of a pure heart. Sincerity is the opposite of mockery and sarcasm and looks to speak and act honestly. Without sincerity, it is impossible to have trust in our friendships. Most importantly, we should be sincere to God because he knows and loves us and sees everything we do.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 2.
Thanks to all of our staff for their work in getting our children back into normal routine and learning last week. Thank you to Ms Tomlins and Mrs Clark, who prepared for the Year 5 Aussie Bush Camp Excursion to Tea Gardens. The children had a great time over the three days, and I’m sure they all slept well on Friday night.
Medical students for 2025 - In the coming weeks, we will be sending home 2025 paperwork for all students with asthma, allergies, etc.. We hope that by doing this, we’ll give parents time to make doctor/specialist appointments so their doctors can sign off on the paperwork for next year as per CEDB Policy. All 2025 paperwork must be submitted before this year's end.
Enrolments & Classes 2025 - To finalise enrolment numbers for 2025, we need to be aware of any students leaving our school at the end of this year. Parents are asked to contact the office and complete the appropriate Student Exit Form if this is the case. Over the next four weeks, classes for 2025 will be formulated. Completing these class lists requires a lot of time and careful consideration. Classes will be finalised by Friday 22nd November. If any parents have requests or information relevant to their child’s class placement for 2025, please notify me via email by Friday 8th November. Any requests will be considered but not guaranteed. Students will be informed of their class placement on Up-Class Day in December.
Term 4 PSSA - The Primary Schools Sports Association Summer Sporting Competition involving Years 4, 5 and 6 students will commence on Friday 25th October. Summer sports include cricket and touch football for students in Years 5 & 6. In Year 4, the girls play T-Ball and the boys play cricket. Codes of Conduct and permission on Compass needs to be completed before this Friday.
Monday Uniform - All students are to be wearing their full summer uniform this Term. Thank you.
SPLASH & DASH
Our P & F committee has launched their major fundraiser for the year - the Splash and Dash. Your child will bring home information tomorrow.
The event aims to promote health, wellness, and community spirit while having an absolute blast! Please mark your calendars because on Friday, 22nd November, our school grounds will be transformed into a canvas of colours.
Our students will raise funds for our Parent and Friends Committee by collecting sponsorship from family and friends.
All funds raised will be put towards continuing improvements to our playground.
The fundraiser offers incentive prizes for those students who raise the most money. As in previous years, any incentive prizes won through collecting sponsorship will be donated to local charities to be distributed to children in disadvantaged families in our local community this Christmas. Alternatively, families can choose to donate to the Daniel Morecombe Foundation or Greenfleet Australia.
