Vision Statement:
St. Mary's Primary strives to be a welcoming Christ-centred learning community that promotes a quality holistic
education and trusting relationships in a caring and supportive environment.
Acknowledgment of Country: We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Wiradjuri people, who, long before us, lived, loved, educated and raised their children on this site. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and we recognise the young people who are our future. We acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our community. We respect their deep physical and spiritual connections to the country through their stories traditions and living cultures.
Character Virtue: T E A M W O R K
Teamwork is when a group of people join to make something happen, like winning a soccer game or organising a soccer game or organising a school fete. For teamwork to succeed, we need to have humility, flexibility, loyalty and dependability. Teamwork is also an opportunity to serve others because as Christians, this means 'loving our neighbour'.
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 3.
Thanks to Mrs Nuttall for organising St. Mary's for PSSA this term and to all of our Year 4 to Year 6 teachers for preparing for each of their sports.
We have a week off from our Kinder 2025 transitions this week, and we look forward to welcoming them back to school next Thursday.
I will be on leave for the next two weeks, and I thank Miss O’Brien for taking on some extra responsibilities during my absence.
Enrolments & Classes 2025 - To finalise enrolment numbers for 2025, we need to be aware of any students leaving our school at the end of this year. Parents are asked to contact the office and complete the appropriate Student Exit Form if this is the case. Over the next four weeks, classes for 2025 will be formulated. Completing these class lists requires a lot of time and careful consideration. Classes will be finalised by Friday, 22nd November. If any parents have requests or information relevant to their child’s class placement for 2025, please notify me via email by Friday 8th November. Any requests will be considered but not guaranteed. Students will be informed of their class placement on Up-Class Day in December.
Medical students for 2025 - In the coming weeks, we will send home 2025 paperwork for all students with asthma, allergies, etc. We hope that by doing this, we’ll give parents time to make doctor/specialist appointments so their doctors can sign off on the paperwork for next year as per CEDB Policy. All 2025 paperwork must be submitted before this year's end.
SPLASH & DASH
We encourage our students to set up their fundraising page for our Splash and Dash on Friday, 22nd November. All money raised will be used by our P & F to improve our playground.
As of Sunday, we had 141 registered fundraisers and just over $8,000 raised.
Miss O’Brien has been kind enough to offer to be “slimed” if we can reach $10,000 by this Friday.
Sport
Polding Athletics - Congratulations to Willow Scott, who competed in the Senior Girls Shot Put at the NSW PSSA Athletics Carnival last week.
Congratulations Willow on reaching this elite level of competition.
Religious Education
Dear Parents,
Year 2 Reconciliation Retreat - Next Wednesday, 6th November (9.30 am to 1.00 pm) our Year 2 students will be going to St. Brigid's Church to participate in a pre-reconciliation retreat. During this day Year 2 from St. Mary's and St. Laurence's will participate in a range of team building and reflective activities in preparation for their Reconciliation coming up later in November. Year 2 will need to wear normal sports uniform on the day and bring a packed lunch. They will catch a bus to and from the church on the day.
Year 2 Reconciliation Registration - First Reconciliation is fast approaching.
All students wishing to register for Reconciliation this year must attend the three preparation sessions.
If you have any questions about Reconciliation, please contact Rosie Hosking via email at sacraments.dubbo@cdob.org.au.

Term 4 is exciting as we begin our Farm unit. This topic is integrated into our Geography, Science, Literacy and Visual Arts activities. So far we have learned about different types of farms and what foods and fibres are produced on these farms. We will also get to go on our very special school excursion to the Simpson's farm later in the term.
